I am Elaine Brown and one of the 3 candidates running together for our open Board positions.
I am running for the Board of Directors to join the existing Board’s goals of making the Trilogy community the most sought after 55 + active community in the Coachella Valley.
- I have worked seven years as TLQS Board Director and President, Chair of the Communication Committee 2017-2019, and Past President of the Women’s 18- Hole Golf Club.
- As TLQS President I worked with the TLQMA board in the following projects that benefitted the community. The MBA Agreement with TLQMA, PLA project, the Ave 60 median renovation as well as granting over $1.5 million to charities in the Coachella Valley.
- I resurrected the Communication Committee and recruited residents of Trilogy to join the committee and together we took on the task of shutting down our antiquated website and replaced it with a website that could easily be updated.
My Professional Background
- I worked for Security Pacific National Bank, City Bank and Union Bank in the Operation side of the industry between 1971-1983
- I worked for the City of Santa Monica Police Department in the Forensic Section for 25 years. I was the Forensic Manager from 2003-2008 and managed eight employees and the Forensic Section budget, and Vice Chair of the Forensic Management Group of Los Angeles County.
- As the Forensic manager I developed an intern program for students of Forensics to develop skills required to fill the many positions in police department across Los Angeles County.
- As Vice-Chair of the Forensic Management Group I was instrumental for implementing valuable training and educating the Forensic Community at no cost to individual law enforcement agency, by working with the Los Angeles County/ Cal-ID to allocate funds for the training of existing and future forensic specialist.
- As the Forensic Manager I created career advancement opportunities for the Forensic Department that resulted in staff progression growth within the unit. thinking in order to improve and maintain our facilities, our community as a whole and be fiscally responsible. I believe in working hard at transparency, professionalism and collectively making the right decisions for the entire community.
My Background and Experience that benefits TLQMA
- During my career I have served on numerous boards including the Forensic Management Group, the Southern California Association of Fingerprint Officers and the Cal-Id/AFIS program that was implemented in 1984 and is the system that all police departments use to identify people by their fingerprints today.
- At Trilogy I have served as chair of the Communications Committee, President of the TLQS Board and served in various positions of the 18 Hole Women’s Golf Club (Tournaments, Historian, and President).
