Phil Jamison

Meet PHIL

I am Phil Jamison and a candidate for the 2024 TLQMA Board of Directors election

As the incumbent Vice President of TLQMA I am running for the Board of Directors to finish the job I have  been dedicated to for the last two years. Here are a few of the accomplishments I share with my fellow Board Members:

·  We negotiated with the Trustees and their lawyers, with SH4 and their lawyers, and Judge Johnson to reassemble OUR golf course and restaurant.

·  We picked Blue Star as our partner and created a vision for the future of our community.

·  We put the Ballot Measure together and we got out the Vote!

Now starts the boots on the ground hard work of managing the rehabilitation of Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta.

·  Now we need someone with my experience in managing Vendors/Contractors and management of high dollar programs.

·  Over the last two years I have proven my commitment and dedication to this community and I will do the same in the next two years.

My Personal Background

·  I have lived most of my life here in California. I grew up in Santa Clara (now Silicon) Valley when kids either picked fruit or worked in a cannery during the summer. My wife Sandy and I have been full time residents here in Trilogy since the Summer of 2017.

·  I am a Master SCUBA Instructor with certifications to train in a variety of specialties including Deep & Wreck Diving, and Underwater Photography.

·  I owned and operated a Recording Studio during the 1980’s and was a member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) for many years.

·  Since moving to Trilogy I have taken up woodworking as a hobby.

·  Sandy and I are both golfers, but neither of us had Golf Course Membership, we were pay to play golfers.

My Professional Background

·  Product Assurance and Manufacturing Quality Assurance professional with a proven leadership record with managing large diverse global teams.

·  Over 35 years’ experience in: Supplier Management, Supplier Evaluation / Qualification, Quality Engineering, with certifications in Total Quality Management, and Six Sigma and until my retirement I was a member of the American Society of Quality (ASQ).

·  Software Product and Program Manager overseeing the development and deployment of Regulatory Compliance & Auditing and Quality Assurance Software. My customers ranged from Lowe’s to Pimco.

My Background with our HOA

·  TLQMA Facilities Committee Member from 2018-2022 where I have helped the Committee in its role of advising and making recommendations to Board on facility/property maintenance, enhancements, and remodel programs.

·  TLQMA Communications Committee Member from 2020-2022. My main role on this Committee was being one of two webmasters developing and deploying our new Community website.

·  President of the Trilogy Photo Club in 2022

·  Along with Mark Reider, we set up and deployed our current website that now has over 2200 Users, and with Mark I continue in the role as Webmaster.

My Platform

·  Trilogy Golf Club at La Quinta – Finish the job!  We have an extremely tight schedule and budget to manage if we are going to meet our Grand Opening target date in November 2024.

·  Reserves - Manage our reserves for the benefit of all current owners and residents:

·  Understanding we must spend reserve funds when necessary to maintain or improve the amenities of our community while maintaining common sense balances in our accounts.

·  I understand that assessment levels are always a major discussion point, and I strongly feel to achieve our goals we must be realistic that our assessments keep pace with our current fiscal position and our strategic plans.

·  Improving the lifestyle and the amenities here at Trilogy will be key to achieving our long-term goals.

·  Transparency and Community Engagement – I promote and support positive community involvement. I am always telling people to speak up and be heard. Our Board of Directors also needs to listen and act with as much transparency as possible.

·  We must maintain the statutes and rules that revolve around how Board meetings are held, and how members are allowed to participate.

·  We must remember that everyone in the community elects our Board of Directors to make decisions for the community, both for its everyday operational needs, and its longer-term strategic directions.

·  Get involved in our community. I believe there are many opportunities for increased member participation here in Trilogy. Speak up and join a Advisory Committee or run for office.

·  I will listen and seek to understand and consider other points of view and will request that anyone who voices their concerns to us also offer a solution or alternative approach to their issues.

·  While I strongly promote positive community involvement in major decisions affecting our community, at the end of the day we all need to support decisions made by our Board of Directors or by the community as a whole when an issue is put to a vote of our members.
